Summer is here and the kids are off to summer camps. While camps have a lot to offer kids, sun protection is a must because of the time spent outside. Children are especially vulnerable to the potential harmful effects of UV light because their skin is thinner and has less melanin than adults. This makes protecting children’s skin a real concern.
Here are a few things for kids to take with them to camp for sun protection.
A wide-brimmed hat that will cover the face and back of the neck
Sun protective (UPF) clothing
Sun glasses that filter 99-100% of UV light
SPF 30 or greater broad spectrum sunscreen(sunscreen sticks are easy for kids to use)
SPF 30 sunscreen for lips
