How did you come up with the idea for Sun Angels?
Sun Angels started with one simple goal in mind: to create kid-friendly, fashionable gear that protects kids from the sun’s potentially harmful UV rays. Sisters-in-law, Stacy DeVreese and Monica DeVreese, created Sun Angels when they were frustrated by the limited options they found for cute, effective sun protection gear for their kids. Very little passed their mommy-approval test, which demanded both function and charm. After spending years slathering on sun block, strapping on hats, and coaxing their kids into the shade, they decided to take matters into their own hands. That’s when they created Sun Angels sun protection gear.

How does the fabric achieve UPF 50+?
The UPF is determined by how much ultraviolet radiation is passed through a fabric. The UPF measures both UVA and UVB rays. A spectoradiometer and an artificial light source are used to measure the amount of UV radiation transmitted. Sun Angels uses a certified independent lab to measure the UPF protection in our arm sleeves. Our arm sleeves have a UPF 50+ rating, which means that more than 98% of UVA and UVB rays are blocked.
% UV radiation Blocked
UPF 15 - 24
93.3 - 95.9
UPF 25 - 39

Sun Angels arm sleeves are designed in the United States, and made in Peru.
What is the best way to care for Sun Angels?
Machine wash cold, dry on low heat or lay flat to dry.
What materials are Sun Angels made?
Sun Angels arm sleeves certified UPF 50+ and are made from a 60% polyester/35% cotton jersey/5 spandex (latex-free) fabric blend, which makes them lightweight and breathable. The top of each sleeve is constructed with a thin, non-restrictive elastic band to keep it from slipping.
Will Sun Angels arm sleeves be warm for the summer?
Sun Angels arm sleeves are great for the summer. Unlike long-sleeved shirts, they allow airflow to the under arm area and wick moisture away to keep skin cool.
Are chemicals used to give Sun Angels a UPF 50+ factor?
No chemicals are used for the benefit of achieving a UPF rating.
How do I know that Sun Angels arm sleeves are certified UPF 50+?
Sun Angels products have been tested at a certified independent lab to determine UPF protection levels.
What level of UV sun protection does Sun Angels provide?
Our arm sleeves are UPF 50+, which is the highest rating you can achieve for blocking UV rays. The testing standard for sun protective fabrics in the United States is the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) Test Method 183. This test determines the ultraviolet light blocked or transmitted by clothing that intends to be used for UV protection.
